Although it raises a valid point here. Despite it being orginally reported that it's UK riots, in truth there has been NO incidents of note (other than reckless bin tipping and ring dancing going on) in either Wales/Northern Ireland or Scotland. Why?

There are parts of Glasgow which are just as deprived as the same parts of London where we saw issues, and it's not like Glasgow doesn't have a gang problem either. Likewise Cardiff has issues as well. So why have'nt we seen rioting here.

Well the reason is pretty simple.

The Celtic nations are simply better than the English......

Quote from RiseAgainstMe! :Is that normal behavior in Britain?

Bikes yes, masks well no. However I would say that I've previously seen youths who would have scarf’s up over their mouths regularly for no obvious reason (In London and Glasgow) so maybe that's what she meant?

Still regardless its a worryingly turn of events and breakdown of relations.....mind there where a number of white people rioting last night as well so it's not a racial thing at all

From Paul Lewis blog on the Gaurdian, worrying signs.

It was only a minor skirmish, but a potentially bad sign for community relations. Police, who have flooded the streets, were quickly on the scene when about 70 men started chasing local youths.

I wouldn't mention their ethnicity, but it seemed to be relevant. The men were white - in their 30s and 40s - and shouting that they wanted to get the "blacks" and "pakis". Lots of them seemed drunk. One man being held back by police shouted: "They're rats, they mugged my Auntie the other night."

Jay Bradley, 30, a witness, told me: "What happened here? What I just saw - everyone from this area aren't gonna have any looting.

What I saw was a couple of ethnic lads, if you can call them that, black lads, and they chased them away.

A lot of it is alcohol - I don't think the kids were doing anything. They were just on bikes and in masks.

But no-one around here is going to stand for any looting.

What are we supposed to do. The Co-op is closed and we're running out of food."

Also now it's moved north to Manchester, London seems to heavily policed for anything to seriously happen.....but the night is still young.

EDIT. Seems like Baseball is starting to take off in England http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/mov ... s_tab?tag=vglnk-uk-c77-21

(btw, can we not call this 'UK Riots' just yet. Still no sign of any riots in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland)

BTW, The Smiths's Panic seems a bit spot on at the moment

Panic on the streets of London
Panic on the streets of Birmingham
I wonder to myself
Could life ever be sane again ?
The Leeds?????? side-streets that you slip down
I wonder to myself
Hopes may rise on the Grasmere
But Honey Pie, you're not safe here
So you run down
To the safety of the town
But there's Panic on the streets of Carlisle (next??)
Dublin, Dundee, Humberside
I wonder to myself

BTW follow Paul Lewis on twitter....seems to be stuck right in the middle of this riots for the past 3 nights

BTW, in RL, Chelsea for me this season, and Liverpool second resort. Anyone else?

Strugle to see past Man Utd again. Ok they haven't brought anyone in but looking at the other contenders I dont see much improvement from them

Arsenal have still not brought in a brutal central defender or a stable keeper. There's also the ongoing issue of will he/wont he with regards to Fabregas which unsetles the team more than whats let on.

Chelsea still have Torres. One of the preseason games they where tanking this poor side (can't remember the tream's name) about 5-0 and still he could not score. Torres and Drogba can not/will not work together, also the new manager is unique in the fact that he never played football. Will this be a pro or a con I don't know, but it's a big jump into the EPL

Liverpool most improved team in my view. Charlie Adam is a great Sottish player (one of a very small group) and with a fit Andy Caroll the 2 could link well and get a good partnership going on. If they hit it off the only thing that concerns me with Liverpool is a questionable back line in front of the keeper.

Man City have issues on and off the pitch with regards to a gelled team. The Tevez issue is still overhanging and the least said about Bibotelli (Balotelli) the better. If Roberto can sort these issues out then theres a chance for cup sucsess, but the league is a tougher challange

Man Utd have lost Scholes and have brought in Young and a new keeper (De Gea??? not sure on spelling) but the main strength of Man Utd lies up front with the 3 strikers The Count (Berbtov) Little Pea (Hernandez) and Shrek (Rooeny). If these guys hit form then Man Utd will simply score one more than they concede in every match and leave it at that

As for my EPL side Newcastle......ITS ALL GONE WRONG.

Done, team name Mackie's Staggies (so I lack originality). I have gone for an expensive front line...putting all my eggs into the Liverpool basket.

I've either backed the best forward line this year....or i have made a horrible mistake

I think what we are seeing here is the pressures of expectations from the sim racing community having a greater affect than once thought.

Take what happened here in LFS almost 3 years ago. When the patch was delayed, with a good reason behind that, the majority of the community here where willing to wait, sure we had bitches who moaned but that's life. However when it was becoming clear over the following weeks and months and the new patch wasn't coming in early 2009 (their words not mine) then more people started to moan and become disillusioned with it. Now it's almost 3 years and it's become a bit of a running joke (I was, in fact, going to make a joke comparing LFS to the Manic Street Preachers album 'Forever Delayed', but even that was released eventually) and as a result I do believe we have seen LFS suffer as a result.

Another example would be NetKar Pro, God only knows what happens with that at times. We could go through years of not getting anything to a magic period of 6/8 months where we see rapid expansion followed by another slow down.

My laboured point is thus, iRacing where damned if they did and damned if the didn't...just like Scawen is if he ever gets around to releasing the new patch for LFS just like Kunos is for netKar pro whenever he does anything....we has sim racers have to readdress our expectations slightly, sometimes cut them some slack and look past flaws and see a bigger picture.

Whatever has been done is better than what we had...sure not as much as we wanted but still progress is progress, and surely nobody better than sim racing nutters are able to appreciate that the finer things in life come to those who wait...now back to my Guinness

BTW can I just registrar my extreme disappointment that there is no Guinness drinking smiley available to use on these boards....and too think we are moaning about trivial things like NTM....pfft

Thing is, I think that they are stepping in the right direction....just not as much forward as we where lead to believe. I can't speak for the new cars yet, but the trucks seem a bit better. No longer does it seem that drifting is the way around the oval...although I'm sure someone will find a way around that with setup.

I don't think we got the NTM, instead we got an update of the OTM....seems to simaler (Skippy seems no different to me :shrug for this to be classed a model.

Grabbed the popcorn and got the beers....now just awaiting Ants post here.

Not surprissed to be honest, the signs where there that all was not right with the NTM, first the reduction of cars with the NTM then the changing of one of those cars. Now I understand that things may not go as planned, and targets change...and I imgaine the majority of us are patient and are willing to wait, but being told these dates and then being told it aint happening it does get a bit thin.
